A Passion for Flowers!

Grower of specialty, boutique blooms and foliage using environmentally responsible practices. I’m drawn to unusual, romantic, fragrant, flowers; heirloom and rare cultivars; and exclusive varieties not commonly available in standard retail outlets. Offerings are sustainably grown, using organic products. I service Philadelphia and the surrounding area. Member of the ASCFG and Floret Farm's Farmer-Florist Collective.

My son is what motivated me to break ground for a garden. I wanted him to play in nature, learn about the web of life and grow (and eat!) the freshest, organic veggies and fruits. My happiest memories in a garden are those I share with him. We made sunflower houses, scarlet runner bean teepees and he was enchanted with his “talking dragon” blooms which led us to try more flower varieties.

I fell truly, madly, deeply in love with “real” flowers and, more importantly, the memories and associations they create. Flowers can instantly bring you to a different time and place, or make your heart skip a beat by mesmerizing the senses, especially with fragrance! They are messengers of delight, healing, gratitude, friendship or commemoration. I firmly believe that local flowers, with their vibrancy and beauty far superior to imports, are better suited for this. Locally grown flowers are so different from the ones I was accustomed to encountering before: run of the mill, mass market, wooden doppelgangers, so lifeless and heavily sprayed they struck me as mummified versions wrapped in plastic. I decided to try my hand at pursing a vocation in which I could endeavor to nurture blooms into their best selves, cultivate beauty and share delight while respecting nature.

I’ve always had a penchant for collecting things and that has manifested in an expansive, curated collection of peonies and dahlias, my gateway blooms that will forever be dear to my heart. And of course, there are always new rabbit holes to dive into, like garden roses!
